Overview

zocoCloud for Unions come with multiple event calendars based on your request. In This course you’ll learn how to add events and publish to specific calendars, edit and delete events, and add event locations and organizers.

In our first lesson, you’ll get an overview of Event Calendar integration on zocoCloud for Union websites. While the specifics may vary from union to union, the overall concept remains the same.

Next, we’ll learn how to add an event to the main calendar. Unlike, our other tools in zocoDash, Events are managed on the main calendar on your homepage.

  1. From the home page, scroll down to your main calendar
  2. Add a descriptive Event Title
  3. Provide an overview of the event
  4. Add a short description.
  5. Select the Event Category

To select an existing location:
  1. Select the location from the Location dropdown
To add a new location:
  1. Select Add New Location from the Location dropdown
  2. In the form that appears, enter a street address, city, and country.
  3. Enter the coordinates as a full address. For example: 1234 Main Street, Burbank, CA 91505
  4. The coordinates are used to display a location map for the event, and a weather forecast.

To select an existing organizer:
  1. from EVENT ORGANIZER select the organizer from the list
To add a new location:
  1. click the Add New Organizer button
  2. In the form that appears, add the organizers name.
  3. click Add Photo to include a logo
  4. optionally add information about the organizer, an email address, and social media links.

In this lesson we will add start and end dates and times.

Start Date and Time:
  1. under START TIME, click the date cell and select the Start Date from the calendar popup
  2. in the two dropdown to the right, select the Start Hour, and Start Minutes
  3. under IS THIS A REPEATING EVENT? select NO REPEAT from the dropdown.
End Date and Time:
  1. under END TIME, click the date cell and select the End Date from the calendar popup
  2. in the two dropdown to the right, select the End Hour, and Start Minutes
  3. under IS THIS A REPEATING EVENT? select NO REPEAT from the dropdown.

This lesson is a continuation of the Lesson 5. It’s important to complete the zocoCloud for Unions: Events course sequentially.

In this lesson we create an All Day event. An All Day event is an event with no start or end time. For example, First Day of School or Election Day. Or it can be multiple days, like Thanksgiving Break.

Single Day:
  1. under START TIME, click the date cell and select the Start Date from the calendar popup
  2. the two dropdown to the right, do not need to be set
  3. under START TIME, click the checkbox “All Day”
  4. under IS THIS A REPEATING EVENT? select NO REPEAT from the dropdown.
Multi Day:
  1. under START TIME, click the date cell and select the Start Date from the calendar popup
  2. the two dropdown to the right, do not need to be set
  3. under START TIME, click the checkbox “All Day”
  4. under END TIME, click the date cell and select the End Date from the calendar popup
  5. the two dropdown to the right, do not need to be set
  6. under IS THIS A REPEATING EVENT? select NO REPEAT from the dropdown.

In this lesson we create an event that repeats daily.

Follow the initial steps to setup either an all-day event, or an event

  1. for the earlier steps to setup either an all-day event, or an event with a specified start and end time
  2. under IS THIS A REPEATING EVENT? select DAILY from the dropdown
  3. GAP determines the number of days between occurrences. If the event is everyday, select NO GAP. If it is every-other-day, select 1 as the number of days between occurrences, etc.
  4. There are 3 options for when you want the last occurrence of the event to take place: NEVER, AFTER ‘x’ number of OCCURRENCES, or by a specific DATE.
  5. select NEVER for ongoing
  6. select AFTER OCCURRENCES and the number of times you want the event to repeat
  7. or select ON DATE and choose a date from the popup calendar. 
You can add Exceptions to the rule:
  1. under DATE EXCEPTION, click the date cell and select the the Date you want to exclude from the calendar popup
  2. then click “EXLUDE DATE”
  3. repeat this for each DATE you want to EXCLUDE

In this lesson we create an event that repeats weekly.

Follow the initial steps to setup either an all-day event, or an event

  1. for the earlier steps to setup either an all-day event, or an event with a specified start and end time
  2. under IS THIS A REPEATING EVENT? select WEEKLY from the dropdown
  3. under BY DAY, select one or more days of the week the even occurs
  4. GAP determines the number of weeks between occurrences. If the event is every week, select NO GAP. If it is every-other-week, select 1 as the number of weeks between occurrences, etc.
  5. There are 3 options for when you want the last occurrence of the event to take place: NEVER, AFTER ‘x’ number of OCCURRENCES, or by a specific DATE.
  6. select NEVER for ongoing
  7. select AFTER OCCURRENCES and the number of times you want the event to repeat
  8. or select ON DATE and choose a date from the popup calendar.

  1. in the ATTENDEES LIMIT field, click the number stepper arrows on the right to set the maximum number of attendees that will be accepted.​
  2. if you prefer, you can type the number instead of using the number stepper.

These event will now display on the specific calendars, as well as the main calendar which displays all events.
